RAYON SPORTS take on Group A opponents KMKM of Zanzibar today at Kigali Regional Stadium looking to win and effectively qualify for the quarterfinals of the Cecafa Kagame Cup 2014.
Jean-Francois Losciuto’s side go into today’s match second on their group’s table with four points, one behind leaders Azam FC of Tanzania, who have played a game more having drawn 2-2 with Atlabara of South Sudan on Tuesday.
The Nyanza-based side drew with Azam 0-0 in the first game on Friday, but won their second game against Ethiopia’s Adama City 2-1 on Sunday. A win today against KKMK would all but guarantee them a place in the last eight with a game to spare – against Atlabara on Saturday.
"We are going for a win, we will give everything for this game because we need to qualify for the last eight,” Rayon Sports Belgian coach Losciuto told Times Sport on Wednesday.
He added: "We know there is no weak team in this competition, but are going to give everything to get three points.”
KMKM have drawn two games – against Atlabara and Adama City – and so will be looking to beat Rayon Sports to give themselves a chance to progress to the next stage.
