Refer to the story, "European feet walk in Rwandan shoes” (Sunday Times, August 10) 

I thank The New Times for this very exciting and impressive stuff.

Development of local industries is the way forward. This can be fast-tracked through public/private partnership ventures.

The Government of Rwanda should be commended for supporting these initiatives but more could be achieved.

Good to know that someone went to the expo and returned with this inspiring report; thanks a lot. I love the image of European feet walking in Rwandan shoes and the irony it carries.

It means, as a country, Rwanda can indeed make something and sell abroad to reduce our overdependence on imports.
