The Rwanda Social Security Board (RSSB) twin-towers in lower Kiyovu, Kigali City, look at you with a defiant gaze. Not defiance of your person of course, but of the institution’s inconsistent past, which however, could not stand in the way when it was time for them to stand.

The colorful façades lend the towers a temptingly artistic look.
And these are only part of the story; RSSB’s long story of evolution from an institution at the verge of collapse, into magnificent vitality in more ways than one, which has not only seen it leapfrog from a sickening past to a fresh chapter but also made it a central contributor to Rwanda’s economic growth in the last twenty years after the country’s liberation and even before; contribution that includes the red-carpet services to its members/affiliates, the large investment portfolio, assets across the country, among many others.
