Rwanda Football Federation president Vincent ‘De Gaulle’ Nzamwita has told Sunday Sport that they don’t why Dady Birori changed his name to Etekiama Agiti.

This follows reports that Congo Brazzaville has lodged a complaint to CAF on the identity of the Rwanda international, who plays for DR Congo side AS Vital Club using the name Tady Etekiama Agiti.

The striker, who hails from DR Congo, has played for Rwandan clubs including Mukura Victory Sports and Atraco FC as well as Amavubi Stars as Dady Birori.

However, when asked if they (Ferwafa) are aware of the player changing his name, Nzamwita said, "We don’t, we don’t have any idea about that, and we also hear about in the media, so it’s him (Birori) who can explain why he changed his name.”

"Here we know him as Dady Birori but if he goes to AS Vital and changes the name, it’s really not our concern and we have responded to CAF clearly, and in any case, we don’t know if he indeed changed his name or its just rumors,” the Ferwafa chief told retorted on Friday.

Amavubi knocked out Congo from the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations- Morocco second round qualifiers 4-3 on penalty shootout after both side drew 2-2 on aggregate after the two legs. Birori played only in the first leg.

In the final round of qualifiers, Rwanda joins Group A which also has Sudan, South Africa and Nigeria.
