Artistes ask Minispoc to pay $1000 in arrears

Members of the Rwandan music industry are demanding from the Ministry of Sports and Culture $1000 in arrears for the composition of the CECAFA KAGAME CUP song three years ago. Musicians, Rafiki, Mako Nikoshwa, Senderi International Hit, Alpha Rwirangira, King James, Kitoko and Massamba were asked by the ministry to compose a song for the tournament and each artiste was supposed to get $1000 but three years down the road, they have not received anything from the ministry. Our snoops tell us the artistes Mako Nikoshwa, Rafiki, Senderi and King James are not happy about the ministry not fulfilling its end of the bargain. They are hoping that Minister Joseph Habineza who is back in the Sports and Culture docket will kindly look into the matter.

Allioni and Producer Washington ‘affair’ hangs in balance

Late last year, the buzz around town was about a romantic affair that involved Rwandan singer Allioni and Ugandan celebrated music producer David Bangiti Washington while he was working on her song, Karacyarimo. The song, that was released in November last year ,sparked off a relationship that got tongues talking but Allioni tried to keep the affair under wraps although this seems to have hit a snag. According to our snoops, both celebrities, who are always in the limelight and have a big following, seem not to know how to handle the attraction that comes with being in the public eye. Our snoops tell us that Washington is not happy about reports that have been circulating in local media about Allioni being involved romantically with other people. And the fact that she has always wanted to keep it a secret didn’t help matters. It is said that they are trying to work on the situation before it’s too late.

Fearless’ I Like You video to be banned

Well, her name sums it up all. She’s called Fearless and her recent ‘I Like You’ video is there to prove that. Her recent video shows her dancing with several other girls, skimpily dressed in a swimming pool and dancing provocatively with men. However, this time it’s not the authorities that want TV stations to stop playing her song, our snoops tell us that the house shown in the video that is situated in Nyarutarama belongs to a born-again Christian and he had no idea about the video. He says that the video was shot at the time when he and his wife were out of the country on a business trip and he was shocked when people called him to tell him that his house was being used to shoot a music video. Since returning, he has been looking for Fearless but in vain. I Like You becomes the third song that might be banned after Dr Jiji’s Welcome to Bed and Urban Boyz’ Ancilla.
