A 44-year old man is currently detained at Nyamata Police Station after he was arrested for allegedly trying to bribe a Police officer who had caught him sneaking an illegal beer into the country from Burundi.

The resident of Rweru Sector was arrested earlier this week with four crates of beer he had trafficked into the country through a porous border in Bugesera District. Police say the suspect offered the officer Rwf10, 000 to buy his way out, but the latter "acted professionally” and instead arrested the suspect.
