As the government encourages the youth to create their own jobs, Rwanda Youth Festival has come up with its own tactics to boost their talents.

The youth staged an exciting and informative exhibition at Caiman Bar and Restaurant on Wednesday. 

The event started at 5pm with opening remarks from comedian John Muyenzi a.k.a Babu. 

After Babu, Elite Kings Dancing Group, a recently formed group, hit the stage with energetic dance routines that warmed up the crowd. Young Masters and Street Homies also got the crowd wild with break-dance and other strokes. 

Nithia Kabera got attention with her poem, but it was Weya, an upcoming artiste, who stole the show with her acoustic music. Her skills with the piano were amazing.

As the show went on, on the other side of the stage, painters did their thing. They drew pictures and painted portraits of people, who paid money for them. The show ended at 8pm.

Muyenzi, one of the organisers, said there is need to engage the youth in various activities as they call for more support.

"The festival aims at bringing together those who have the capacity to do something, but only if they don’t have a place to showcase their work,” he said.
