NEWLY PROMOTED national football league side Sunrise FC has signed former Amavubi Stars left-back Donatien ‘Jojoli’ Tuyizere on a two-year contract.
Tuyizere, who has featured for all local big clubs including APR, Kiyovu SC, Atraco and Rayon Sports, signed for Rwamagana-based Sunrise after being released by Police FC.
The veteran defender helped the law-enforcers to reach the Peace Cup final and to a fourth place finish in the national league last season.
Sunrise have also signed right-winger Antoine Jimmy Kakule from Gicumbi FC and defensive midfielder Mbanyi Ndayisenga from Etincelles FC on a two-year deal.
"We signed the trio and I hope they will help us stay in the topflight division beyond the forthcoming season. We also signed other new players and now have a solid squad for a decent campaign in our first season in the top league” head coach Moussa Gatera told Times Sport on Wednesday.
Sunrise FC is the first team from the Eastern Province to join the topflight national league since in 2007.
The team, who recently signed former Amavubi and APR coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira as their new coach, kick off their pre-season training this morning in Rwamagana.
