The ongoing US-Africa leaders summit should be an eye opener for the African continent.

It is an opportunity for African leaders to realise that with the availability of raw materials, Africa now needs not the handouts of large sums of monies that in most cases end within the hands of the few, but rather the developed nations to help Africa by say establishing ‘schools of industries’ to help train the engineers of tomorrow.

In return, those engineers will directly indulge in transforming the already available raw materials into finished products that will be made available locally at affordable prices but also the investors will be able export finished products other than raw materials.

Africans will, on the other hand, access quality products at much lower prices.

Establishing schools of industries in relation to the availability of raw materials per region (Africa in general), will cut costs of production, create employment opportunities for the locals, and  generate a higher NGP, GDP, higher per capita income for advanced life styles.
