Somalis should end fighting

Dear editor,

When I was watching on my television, gruesome pictures of at least 55 people who died in usual clashes in the southern port of Kisumai disturbed me a lot.

What is wrong with Somalis? Can’t they come to their senses and stop hopeless conflicts and wars. You know Somalia has been without a functioning national government since 1991 and has suffered much civil strife.

We are tired of watching children who are underweight; some actually show signs of chronic malnutrition, distended stomachs, sunken eyes and stick-thin limbs.

Chronic insecurity has gone as far as stopping the humanitarian help in the regions of the Horn of Africa.

Somalia is indeed a country God forgot; otherwise, he would have intervened to stop those children from suffering.
