In interview with The New Times Sheila Kangwagye, MTN Uganda’s Public Relations officer said, "MTN Zone is currently only available to MTN customers in Uganda, South Africa, Swaziland, Guinea Bissau, and Ghana. Therefore MTN Rwanda customers cannot access the service yet but I’m sure they are working on introducing the service into that market too.”
Through this new initiative MTN aims to change the traditional usage patterns and further stimulate call rates during times of low network utilisation.
