Global music authority Trace has revealed other performers in the star-studded lineup for the Trace Awards coming to Kigali for the first time on October 21, and among them are Nigerian mega stars like YBNL’s Olamide, Yemi Alade and Fireboy DML.
Other new additions to the lineup include Mr Easi (Nigeria), Azawi (Uganda), BNXN (Nigeria), Camidoh (Ghana), Chriss Eazy (Rwanda), Danni Gatto (Cape Verde), DJ Illans (Reunion), Donovan BTS (Mauritius), Emma’a (Gabon), AEI (Madagascar), Gerilson Insrael (Angola) and Ghetto Kids (Uganda).
Others to grace the highly anticipated show include Goulam (The Comores), Kader Japonais (Algeria), Kalash (Martinique), Krys M (Cameroon), KO (South Africa), KS Bloom (Ivory Coast), Levixone (Uganda), Locko (Cameroon), MIKL (Réunion), Moses Bliss (Nigeria), Nadia Mukami (Kenya), Olamide (Nigeria), Pabi Cooper (South Africa), Segael (Réunion) and Show dem Camp (Nigeria).
According to a communique from Trace, tickets for the Trace Awards are now available on www.ticqet.rw from RWF20,000 while BK Arena Prepaid Card holders receive a 25% discount on all tickets
The newly announced artistes join previously proclaimed performers and nominees of the Trace Awards such as Davido (Nigeria), Asake (Nigeria), Black Sherif (Ghana), Blxckie (South Africa), Bruce Melodie (Rwanda), Bwiza (Rwanda), and The Compozers (Ghana) among others.
Trace also revealed that further performers will be announced at a later date.
Presented by Visit Rwanda and Martell, the Trace Awards will take place at the BK Arena, Kigali, Rwanda on October 21, and 7, 000 music fans will have the opportunity to experience the live event, which will be presented on a purpose-built stage.
The entire African continent will be represented by its best artistes at the TRACE Awards, showcasing the excellence and diversity of Afrocentric music in genres such Afrobeat, Dancehall, Hip Hop, Afro-pop, Mbalax, Amapiano, Zouk, Kizomba, Genge, Coupé Décalé, Bongo Flava and rap among many other genres.
Competing in 22 award categories are platinum-selling artistes from more than 30 countries in Africa, South America, the Caribbean, the Indian Ocean and Europe including Algeria, Angola, Brazil, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Comoros, DRC, France, French Guiana, Gabon, Ghana and many other countries.
The winners will take home one or more Trace Awards Trophies - unique pieces of art designed by acclaimed Congolese sculptor and designer, Dora Prevost.
