Celebrated regional musician Kidumu, real name Jean-Pierre Nimbona has advised Rwandan artistes to utilise their vocals instead of using auto-tune if they want to sell in the region.  

"Rwandan artistes are not original. They use computer music software applications instead of using their real vocals. It will never help them grow. But once people get to know their real voices, trust me, Rwandan music will sell worldwide,” Kidumu said

Rwandan musicians heavily rely  on auto tune which is the reason why a small number of them keep representing the country at international music festivals.
