Miss Rwanda is our beauty queen and should be treated as such

Editor,

Reference is made to the story, "Who is to blame for the Miss Rwanda mess?” (The New Times, July 21). Well done Miss Rwanda! You have exposed your manager’s incompetence.

What role does this manager play in your initiatives? Does he mobilise resources to help fund your good cause? Does he look for new endorsements or just sit in the office, feel big while using the limited resources you mobilised when you won the crown? I suggest that you take the first step to fire him straight away and get a competent manager.

Miss Rwanda should not be managing her own schedules, arranging meetings or processing travel documents. All these roles should be handled by the manager while Miss Rwanda prepares her speeches, beautify herself, keep her size and shape so as to represent the country in the best way possible.

Remember Miss Rwanda, this is your reign; you should have a say on how you want things to be run. She deserves better.  Maybe she should consider going for a female manager; they tend to be more organised.

There is only one Miss Rwanda, period.
