Songstress Knowless put on one of the best album launches this year at the Kigali Serena Hotel on Saturday.
The diva had a fully packed auditorium by 7pm that saw late-comers stand all through the show.
Dressed in a long white dress, Knowless came on stage at 9pm with backup dancers who were equally dressed in white and evoked emotions with a splendid theatrical performance of her gospel hit Mbese urukundo rw’Imana.
Knowless was joined on stage by twelve little girls who sung with her. Hit after hit, the show intensified with performances of Follow you, Reka Ngukunde, Ninkureka ukagenda and Tulia climaxing with her latest hit Wowe featuring Christopher.
As she had promised earlier, all the performances were live and there was no single play back.
Together, with backup singers, she also performed renditions of legendary folk singer Rugamba Cyprian’s songs which brought back memories of his popular band Amasimbi n’Amakombe. She had a superb performance with Inganzo Ngari that exuded a lot of energy; the crowd could be seen dancing the traditional Rwandan dance from their seats.
She did a series of traditional songs on her new album such as Nyaruka, Baramushaka and Nzaba Mpari amidst applause from the audience.
The highly billed show hosted by Sandrine Isheja and Ally Soudy kicked off with an electric performance from legendary musician Makanyaga and his band. He was flanked by two old men as his backup dancers and they proved that age is just a number as they gyrated away to Nshatse inshuti which charmed the audience.
Kesho band gave acoustic backup to Christopher for Habona and Ndabyemeye performances among others. Tom Close had a good performance with Ibintu byarahindutse and his new song Isi.
Dream Boys intensified the show with great performances of Urare Aharyana and Uzahahe Uronke.
The concert ended with Knowless expressing gratitude to her loyal fans that have supported her throughout her musical journey.
The concert attracted several musicians that included Intore Massamba, Mani Martin, Senderi International Hit, Khizz Kizito, Aline Gahongayire, Tonzi and Faycal.
