This is one of the newest additions to the city’s luxury boutique hotels.
It sprung up just a month ago, along KN 8 Avenue in Kacyiru, and some of its immediate neighbours are; the American Embassy, Police Headquarters, Police Hospital, and the Scola Hotel.
The facility is housed in two elegant single-storey structures, each housing eight luxurious rooms.
The space between the two buildings has been turned into a cozy lounge area, the Pearl Lounge, and truth be told, it’s the best place to sit while at the hotel.
The lounge has open walls that will guarantee you a beach-like experience once the evening breeze sweeps in, besides a free internet hot spot.
Above all, the lounge offers an extensive menu of cocktails, beers and other beverages and regular happy-hours on all drinks and pub bites. Whether you crave fine dining or just want to settle for a simple snack, the restaurant offers an extensive menu sampling culinary delights from around the world.
They are big on steaks, fish, roast chicken and chicken stroganoff, a good selection of vegetarian dishes, and a variety of fresh, home-made salads. Otherwise, anything from Nyama Choma, to traditional Rwandan food can be fixed for you.
Away from this lounge, one has only two options left; the hotel’s in-house restaurant, Muhabura, and the guest facility. Talking of the restaurant, it offers a relaxed dining experience that features an international food selection with an African-themed buffet style.
Over an early evening drink on Thursday, the waiter nudged us into trying the fish kebab served with chips and/or rice, and we did just that.
The fish brochette came on such huge skewers that I suspected the waiter to have mixed the order up and brought beef instead, which wasn’t the case.
Their rooms fall under three categories; Junior suites, Deluxe suites, and the standard suites, which boast the usual range of hotel amenities like private balconies, coffee table, mini bar, and in-room safe.
