AMAVUBI SKIPPER Niyonzima Haruna believes Rwanda will register a positive result against Congo Brazzaville to qualify to the next round as they seek to be in Morocco in 2015.
The Red Devils of Congo host Amavubi in the first leg of the final preliminary round of qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations slated for Sunday in Pointe-Noire
"We have a positive team spirit and we are focused on securing a good result against Congo,” speaking to Saturday Sports, the Young Africans midfielder said.
Haruna said the team is ready for the clash.
"It will not be easy but the team has picked up the rhythm and I hope we will maintain the good start we have had in this qualification round,” added Haruna.
He added that as a team they will avoid conceding any goal.
If we can have a clean sheet away, then we will do whatever it takes to win the return leg in our courtyard, Haruna explained.
Amavubi reached Brazzaville on Wednesday night where they had light training on Thursday before departing for Pointe-Noir on Friday.
After Sunday’s continental qualifier, they will head to Libreville for the return international friendly match against Gabon due on July 27 before returning to Kigali the following day.
The winner after the second leg which will be played in Kigali on August 2 will seal a Group A spot, joining South Africa, Nigeria and Sudan.
