After months of not releasing any major projects, Rwandan rapper Kenny Kshot is back at the top of the charts with a new hit titled ‘Lowkey,’ the first track to be released on his forthcoming EP 'Superman'.
The rapper, who is considered one of the best of his generation in the country, confirmed the development to The New Times on Tuesday, September 19, saying that Superman will consist of eight tracks and will feature the best musicians in the Rwandan music industry today.
"Lowkey is the first of the eight tracks that will appear on my upcoming EP, which will be released on all major streaming platforms by mid-October. It's a work of art that's a bit different from the usual Kenny Kshot that many know and that's the whole inspiration behind the whole project. It's a new wave full of different genres than what I usually produce," the rapper told The New Times.
The EP, he said, was also produced in a different vibe, more sentimental than the usual street and hustle lifestyle he has rapped about in most of his previous projects.
"There are sounds that I have been trying to hoop on even before the release of Intare and those are the ones that make up this big upcoming EP. It's not just rap and hip-hop, but everything else full of feelings," he added.
Produced by Kenny Kshot's long time collaborators such as Zed, Ehlers, Madebeats and others, the EP will feature some of the country's best artistes today such as Kivumbi King, Nillan, Juno Kizigenza, MaestroBoomin and Trizzie 96.
In 2021, Kenny-Kshot's music career took a turn for the better after he released hits like 'Ibitambo', 'Intare' and 'Snitches', all of which brought a lot of attention to his career and catapulted him to new heights in the rap industry.
