RWANDA U-17 team (Junior Wasps) are confident of picking results when they face Uganda Cubs on Saturday in the second round of the Africa Nations Championship qualifier at Namboole Stadium in Kampala.
"We are ready to face Uganda. Our main objective is winning the first away match before hosting our Ugandan counterparts in Kigali on August 1,” head coach Aloys Kanamugire told Times Sport as an 18-man squad set off for Kampala yesterday.
"I have new players who have not played for top division clubs but their level is promising. If everything goes according to plan, then we will display fine performances,” added Kanamugire.
The veteran coach is boosted by Belgium-based duo of Tubize FC Striker, Patrick Honore Bananeza and midfielder Kevin Muhombo.
The Junior Wasps are expected to train at Namboole stadium today ahead of tomorrow’s crucial tie. Meanwhile, Ugandan Cubs shifted from Njeru technical Center where they have been camping since last Thursday to Kampala.
The team is staying around Bweyogerere and has been training at Namboole in preparation for the upcoming match.
The Junior Wasps will host the Cubs in the return leg scheduled for August 2.

Rwanda participated in the Fifa U-17 World Cup in 2011, having finished second in the 2011 African U-17 Championship finals which they hosted.
