UGANDA’S KCCA FC coach George Nsimbe has pointed out three-time winners APR as their main group stage threat in this year’s Cecafa Kagame Cup tournament set to run from August 8-24 in Kigali.

Speaking to Ugandan media over the weekend, Nsimbe who is looking to beef up his curriculum vitae at the regional level said that his only worry in the group lies with Rwandan champions APR, whose approach to football matches today is unfamiliar to him.

The Ugandan champions are grouped with APR, Flambeau de l’est from Burundi, Kenya’s Gor Mahia and Telecom of Djibouti.

Nsimbe who won his first title at the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar last January said, said that Kenya’s Gor Mahia will not be an issue in his ambitions to win Group B of the Cecafa Kagame Cup.

"I believe our group is tough but Gor Mahia is not a problem to me. I have been watching the Kenyan league on TV and I know how to confront them. APR is the problem because you know clubs have evolved their approach to playing,” Nsimbe said.

APR Fc who won the Turbo King League and Peace Cup titles will be eyeing a treble when the two-week annual championship rolls in next month at Amahoro and Nyamirambo Stadia.

Other Rwandan representatives Police is placed in Pool C of the Cecafa Kagame Cup championship alongside defending champions Vital’O from Burundi, Sudan’s El Merreikh and Benadir from Somalia.

Rayon Sports is in group A alongside five-time Kagame Cup winners Young Africans from Tanzania, Coffee [Ethiopia], Atlbara [South Sudan] and KMKM [Zanzibar].

The Cecafa Kagame Cup tournament 2014 edition will run from Friday August 8th to 24 as teams seek to be the regional giants.
