REFER TO the Editorial, "Something should be done about Quartier Mateus” (Sunday Times, July 13).

It looks you forgot to mention all the badly wired houses up for rent. An electrician told me that our house was a disaster waiting to happen. Since the landlord is unlikely to carry out any re-wiring we’re looking to move...but who knows what electrical dangers lurk in the next house?

Government should require potential landlords to have a certificate of survey declaring their homes fit for purpose, including a full electrical check. Thank you.
