I wish to respond to Gitura Mwaura’s article, "The moral argument must not be naïve in the contraceptive debate” (The New Times, July 3).
I hate to sound so matter of fact, but the "moral” argument has absolutely no place in this debate. None whatsoever!
Let’s deal with facts and only facts if we truly want to protect our sons and daughters.
The only reason we think the problem is getting out of hand lies in today’s technology. We have the means to report these unwanted pregnancies today more than we did a few decades ago.
So let’s be honest with ourselves and our children by giving them the information (tools) and the assistance they need to make sound decisions when it comes to sex. Praying and burying our heads in the sand will "not” work. It never has and never will.
