THE CONFEDERATION of African Football (CAF) has appointed Rwandan referees to officiate the 2015 Africa Nations Cup second round qualifier match between hosts Uganda and Mauritania scheduled for July 19 at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole in Kampala.

According to Caf, Hudu Munyemana will be the centre referee and will be assisted by Theogene Ndagijimana (first assistant referee), Ambroise Hakizimana (second assistant referee) and Issa Kagabo the fourth official.

Uganda Cranes face Mauritania after Equatorial Guinea was tossed out of the 2015 Nations Cup qualification after it was revealed they fielded an ineligible player in 1st round play off of 17th May 2014 played in Nouakchott. The two were meant to face off in the first leg of the final preliminary round of the 2015 Nations Cup qualification on 19 July in Kampala, having won their respective second round ties against Madagascar and Mauritania respectively.

Equatorial Guinea has a long history of being disqualified on cases of fielding illegible players.

Striker Thierry Fidieu Tazemeta who plays his club football in Thailand for Singhtarua FC is a naturalized Equatoguinean football striker born 13 October 1982 in Mbouda, Cameroun but they didn’t provide evidence Tazemeta was eligible to represent them or complied with FIFA Statutes on change of association.

Mauritania now proceed to engage Uganda in final playoff round with first leg on July 19 in Kampala and the winner over the two legs will join Ghana, Togo and Guinea in Group E of qualification to Morocco next year.

Serbian coach Milutin Sredjovic’s Cranes troops pipped the Mauritania National team, 3-0 in a friendly match played at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on January 2, their most recent meeting.

The teams were using the friendly to test their CHAN 2014 squads though both never made it out of the group stages.
