PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Rwanda boss Bernice Kimacia has been appointed the new Africa human capital leader with immediate effect.

Kimacia is the first female to be appointed to the PwC Africa management committee, which is mandated with implementing the PwC Africa governance board plans and vision, the board said in a statement yesterday.

She replaces Kuria Muchiru (PwC Kenya) who has been elected to the PwC Africa governance board.

"We would like to thank Kuria for his contribution to the PwC Africa management committee over the past two years and wish him well in his new role,” it added.

Suresh Kana, the territory senior partner, lauded Kimacia, saying she has the required passion and mindset to make a valuable contribution to our PwC Africa leadership team.

She will however continue in her role as the PwC Rwanda senior partner despite the new appointment.

Kimacia has over 20 years of experience in providing audit and advisory services to various sectors. She is a UK trained chartered accountant and has managed and done various projects for listed and middle-market companies.
