Sensational Burundian musician Kidumu and rapper Jay Polly joined Musanze residents for the 10th anniversary of Kwita Izina (Gorillas naming) held in Kinigi, Musanze district on Tuesday.

The Kenya-based Burundian celebrated star Jean Pierre Nimbona known by his stage name Kidumu blew up the crowd with his famous hits such as Ku Mushaha, umenikosea, Mapenzi among others. He also named a gorilla Kibido, his nickname.

The 10th Kwita Izina ceremonies were emceed by Rwanda’s international comedian Diogene Ntarintwa aka ‘Atom’ and Prime Minister Pierre Damien Habumuremyi, the chief guest named one of the baby gorillas ‘Birashoboka’.

Mashirika group and famed traditional singer Sophie Nzayisenga were also among the entertainers of the day.
