NEWLY PROMOTED side Sunrise from East Province have signed five new players in bid to bolster their quest of staying in the 2014/15 national football league.
The club has given two-year contracts to experienced players such as Ugandan-born goalkeeper Robert Shyaka who has been unattached, defender Charles Kawuma from Musanze FC, midfielder Robert Segawa from Mukura VS, defender Clement Mutunzi from Espoir FC and Alexis Nkomeje from Amagaju. According to head coach Moussa Gatera, the Rwamagana district-based Sunrise won’t come to the topflight league seeking for relegation survival but ready to challenge giants for the league title. "We are building a strong competitive squad such that we can compete for the league title in our first campaign in the top flight league. It’s not easy but the mission is attainable,” added Gatera.
He further disclosed that the team is still in the build-up process and are still signing more potential players before beginning their pre-season training.
