Amb. Jean Pierre Karabaranga, Rwanda’s envoy to the Netherlands, on Monday presented his credentials to the President of Slovenia Borut Pahor.
The ceremony took place in the Presidential Palace, in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.
A statement from the Rwandan embassy in the Netherlands said President Borut Pahor and Amb. Karabaranga discussed a number of issues which include the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, unity and reconciliation efforts, Vision 2020, twelve-year basic education and universal health insurance, among others.
"President Borut admitted that Slovenia had in the past ignored the African continent and had only one embassy based in Egypt,” reads part of the statement.
Slovenia is a big country but with only two million inhabitants.
