Rwanda’s schools’ select side landed their first win in Uganda’s prestigious schools cricket tournament yesterday after a 74-run victory over St. Peters.

Chasing Rwanda’s score of 124 runs, the Ugandan boys fell 74 runs short of the target, thanks to Derrick Bayingana who masterminded Rwanda’s bowling attack with three wickets while Eric Dusabemungu and Andre Kayitera picked two apiece.

The win was good consolation for the boys who opened their campaign on a low after being trounced by defending champions Kololo SS on Sunday.

Rwanda’s schools’ select side is seeded in pool A alongside Kololo SS, St. Peters and Kings College Budo.
