This weekend’s was arguably one of the best Primus Guma Guma Superstar roadshows this year. As the famed contest was taken to Muhanga District in the Southern Province, the ten artistes took the stage and it was nothing short of splendid. 

In a bid to wow fans, artistes put more effort in their respective styles and they all nailed it. 

With three back-up singers, two guitarists, an amazing drummer and an experienced keyboard player, Rn’B crooner Christopher took the stage first. Clad in a navy blue suit with nothing under the jacket, his performance of Habona and Irijoro got the crowd screaming for more. 

Young Grace was introduced next. 

Dressed Janelle Monroe style, the hip-hop diva didn’t disappoint with her performance of Yigize Farceuer and Muze Tubyine. With judges’ eyes glued to the stage, the contestants left nothing to chance. Mc Arthur introduced Amag the Black; as usual he had a good performance of Uruhinja and Care. 

Dream Boys probably had one of the best performances of the day. Clad in red and black suits, they had the thousands of Muhanga residents on their toes as they hit the stage with their energetic back-up dancers. As they left the stage, revellers were begging for more.

However, their performance was superseded by Active who came on stage next. 

The Active trio of Tizzo, Olvis and Derek made an effort to improve on their performance from last weekend at the Kigali live show. Being the smartest artistes in Muhanga, they had impressive performances of Aisha and Ayaya. 

Jules Sentore paid tribute to Rwandan liberators when he hit the stage dressed in army fatigue. He performed Dutaramane and Udatsikira; which were the crowds favourite. 

Not to be outdone, Sentore’s fellow Gakondo Group member Diana Teta threw everyone in frenzy. She chose a rose dinner dress for her performance and was laid back with her performance of Uwanjye and Undi Munsi.

Jay Polly, Senderi and Rock star Bruce Melody were the last to perform respectively. ‘Kabaka’ Jay Polly was number eight to take the stage with Ikosora and Celibataire before he cleared the stage for Senderi International Hit Harvard. 

Backed-up with four dancers, he wasted no time to get the crowd dancing. He performed Twaribohoye; a tribute to the Liberation struggle and Icyomoro. But it was Bruce Melody who had the best performance of the day. 

With an energetic queen dancer, his performance of Telephone and Ndumiwe sent tongues wagging. The judges; Aimable, Tonzi and Lion Manzi handed the results to PriceWaterhouseCoopers (the auditors) before the curtain was drawn on Muhanga live show. 

Musanze residents are up for a treat next Saturday.
