Nigerian music star David Adedeji Adeleke aka Davido is set to entertain Rwandans on July 4 during the Liberation Day celebrations at Amahoro national stadium. The concert will start at 4:00pm.
The 21-year-old Skelewu singer will headline the Liberation Day concert alongside Rwanda’s most popular artistes including Jay Polly, Dream Boys and Urban Boyz, among others.
"Celebrating 20 Years of Liberation in Rwanda on July 4. Muraho Rwanda! See you at the concert!” The 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards artist of the year posted on his official Twitter account last week
Also to grace the concert is Uganda’s song bird Cinderella Sanyu, better known by her stage name as Cindy.
Cindy’s attendance was confirmed by Danny Mutembe, the Communications Manager of Umurinzi Reflection Centre Association, the organisers of the concert.
"Liberation Day is the time for Rwandans to celebrate liberation after the 100-day mourning period. We wanted to bring more international artistes but some were not available,” Mutembe said.
The concert is part of a concept dubbed NI WOWE, an initiative to highlight Rwanda’s exemplary leadership and in doing so; underlining Rwanda’s achievements over the last 20 years, the lessons learnt.
The aim of the concert is to get the young generation to pledge a promise that the foundation laid over the past 20 years will hold for generations to come, according to the organisers.
