2014 World Refugee Day Celebration in Rwanda
20 June has been set aside every year as World Refugee Day, the day on which UNHCR and its partners commemorate the strength and resilience of the people we serve. This year’s numbers exceed 50 million people around the world who were forced to flee their homes due to war or human rights abuses (including some 3.4 million refugees and asylum seekers, and 5.4 million Internally Displaced Persons in Africa).
