The Rwanda Security Force (RSF) deployed in the Province of Cabo Delgado, in northern Mozambique, organized a community work event, known as "Umuganda," in the coastal town of Mocimboa da Praia, on Saturday, September 16.
The collaborative initiative brought together RSF personnel, local authorities, and residents of Mocimboa da Praia, with the primary objective of cleaning and revitalizing their town.
Approximately 1,000 residents participated in the day's community work activities.
Prominent leaders of the district including Joao Joaquim Antonio Saravia, the municipality Permanent Secretary, Vicente Alfandega, Secretary of Mocimboa da Praia Municipality, Sasco Ancha King, the District Technical Director, and Fabiao Kamessa, the Coordinator of the Institute of Social Economic Development (IDES), as well as village chiefs, participated.

As the day of community work drew to a close, all participants gathered for a ceremony. Local leaders and government representatives addressed the population, educating them on the importance and purpose of such communal endeavors.
Alfandega expressed appreciation to the Rwanda Security Force for their support and contributions to peace and security in Mozambique. He encouraged the local population and leaders to engage in community work every last Saturday of each month, promoting unity and the betterment of their town.
