A fox and stork were very good friends. They used to eat together. One day, the fox called the stork at his home for dinner.
The stork agreed with a lot of pleasure and went there. But when dinner was served, he wasn’t pleased at all. The fox had served the soup on a flat dish. With his long bill, the stork couldn’t eat it. He tried several times, but all in vain.
The fox ate up all the soup. After a few days, the stork met the fox and asked him to come home for dinner. The fox agreed and went there to share a meal with him.
The stork also served delicious soup, but in a narrow pitcher (calabash). The fox could not eat the soup while the stork was busy eating. So the fox went home hungry.
