Editor,

This letter is with reference to the article, "Rwandan ICT firm to feature in global competition” (The New Times, June 23).

Kudos to the Ministry of Youth and Information Communication Technology (ICT), which is always very pro-active,  and encourages both the youth and ICT companies to excel in whatever they do!

Jean Niyotwagira, who owns Torque, the ICT firm dealing in online management that was selected to represent the country, explained that they worked hard for this win. For sure, there is no substitute for hard work. It is through hard work alone that other companies like Hehe Limited, Shaking Sun and many others have made a mark in today’s highly competitive and demanding world.

While we wish Mr. Niyotwagira every success in Geneva, the Indian Merchants’ Chamber would be very pleased to support promising Rwandan youth just as we invited an outstanding student from the School of Finance and Banking for our International Banking and Finance Conference a couple of years ago.
