The 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil has been full of surprises so far.  Times Sport talked to some of the local coaches about their take on which team will win the tournament come July 13.

Under 17 national team coach Alloys Kanamugire and Andre Cassa Mbungo, the head coach of league side AS Kigali have both predicted that the World Cup trophy will stay in South America.

Kanamugire says the world cup will produce more surprises because big teams have been struggling in the tournament. 

"This World Cup has been full of surprises from start, and it’s difficult to point at a winner, which makes the tournament even more interesting for the fans.

"No team is going into any match confident of getting a win. Like we have seen in almost all matches played so far, every team big or small is capable of a win,” Kanamugire, a veteran Sports pundit told Times Sport on Monday.

However, when pushed harder to come up with a prediction, the former Amavubi player picked on hosts Brazil as the more likely champions, but also tipped Argentina and Holland to give the Samba boys a run for their money.

The national team assistant coach Cassa Mbungo, who also doubles as AS Kigali coach, says the 2014 World Cup, will go down in history as one of the best ever. 

Like Kanamugire, Mbungo also predicts that any of the South American teams could take the trophy. 

"Chile, Costa Rica, Brazil, and Argentina, any of these can win the title. It is an interesting cup, where everyone is getting surprised but South American teams have prepared well for this tournament and they are favourites to win the title,” he said.
