Minister Murekezi urged survivors and Rwandans in general to always "remember, unite and renew.” the message of this year’s commemoration theme

Former senator Antoine Mugesera outlined poor governance, tribal identity cards, sectarianism and hate propaganda as some of the factors that contributed to the  1994 Genocide against the Tusti

Fortune Mukakagatana, one of the survivors, in her testimony, said they were denied equal opportunities with  other employees. Mukakagatana worked in the then Ministry of Works between 1988 and 2004.

She thanked the current government for uniting and reconciling Rwandans.  The three ministries share the same block.
