INDORWA CRICKET CLUB set up a semi final clash against Victory after defeating Keral Hunters over the weekend in this year’s Computer Point T20 tournament. Indorwa in Group B went into the last game alongside Right Guards knowing very well that they needed a win in their games with a net run rate better than that of Telugu CC which was 1.35.
Indorwa imported Ugandan pair of Arthur Kyobe and Roger Mukasa to beef up their team. The duo didn’t disappoint as they smacked Kerala Hunters CC’s bowlers all around the park.
Batting first, Indorwa broke the record of scoring the highest ever Rwanda score of 255 runs for a loss of only 3 wickets, thanks to Kyobe and Mukasa who scored 94 and 92 runs respectively. Chasing 255 seemed a huge task for Kerala Hunters as they fell to Indorwa’s captain Mihir Solanki’s aggressive bowling that earned him four wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs.
Kerala Hunters only managed 127 runs for 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In another game, Right Guards won its game against Indo-Pak but at a run rate that could not qualify them for the semi finals. Right Guards needed to go past Indo-Pak’s score of 126 in just 8.5 overs to stand a chance, but all was in vain as they lost frequent wickets.
In the semi finals due this weekend, Challengers will face Telugu while Indorwa will take on Victory.
In the women category, Queens of Victory kept their hopes alive to qualify for the women finals after beating Charity by 8 wickets.
