Rwanda’s RnB sensation Tom Close entertained residents of Gisagara during the World Blood Donor Day celebrations on Saturday. The Ndakubona hit maker was the centre of attraction during the event as several students in attendance flocked to his seat to get autographs from him.

Despite the poor sound, Tom Close was received by wild cheers from the crowd as he performed a song he specifically recorded to raise awareness about blood donation dubbed Kutanga amaraso nukutanga Ubuzima.

"I would like to see all fellow artistes and Rwandans donating blood because it is a life saving activity. When you give one unit of blood, you are saving someone’s life; it can also be your life that you are saving because you can’t know when you will need a blood donation,” he said.

Tom Close is currently working at the National Centre for Blood Transfusion to raise awareness on the importance of blood donation as well as mobilize people to donate blood through his music. He performed other songs like Ndakubona and his latest single Isi.

Inkumburwa and Ibihozo dance groups also entertained the crowd with traditional Kinyarwanda dance that was later followed by a drama play.
