Refer to the article, "Gasabo residents appeal for district public notary” (The New Times, June 16). I want to say that this is one hidden damning issue revealed among a myriad in Gasabo District— especially in these domain of land titles documents and/or construction permit at the district level.

In Gasabo District, you have to go through long and unnecessary processes to get an official document, and this is always accompanied by payment of different fees.

I inquired whether it's a similar situation in other districts of the City of Kigali and was told that it’s not the case, especially the time it takes to get an official document.

Something needs to change in our district.
