For the 11th time since the All-Africa Challenge Trophy (AACT) was launched in 1992, South African women’s amateur team claimed success in Africa’s most prestigious biennial championship.
Rwanda was represented by Sheetal Philip, Jenny Linda Kalisa Lynda Mugeni. Sheetal finished 45th out of 48 players with a 110 gross on day one.
She returned 120 on second day and finished the championship with 114 for a total of 344 gross over the three rounds respectively. Kalisa and Lynda Mugeni finished in 46th and 47th positions respectively.
This was Rwanda’s second appearance since making their debut when the bi-annual event was held in Gaborone, Botswana in 2012 where the team finished 18th out of 22 African countries.
Meanwhile, hosts Kenya held up under huge pressure from Tanzania to combine for a final round 151 to clinch the runner-up spot on 453.
