Genocide survivor honoured at festival
Latest on our Grapevine has it that Genocide survivor, Immaculée Ilibagiza recently received the Freedom Award at the Freedom Festival at Brigham Young University in Provo, U.S.

"I have been in the worst situation. But I want everyone to know if you put your trust in God there is always hope,” Ilibagiza was heard saying.

Ilibagiza immersed herself in a relationship with God during 91 terrifying days hiding in a three foot by four foot bathroom with eight other women. When she was able to leave her hiding place, she found out her mother, father, and three brothers had all been killed.

In her captivating and inspiring book, ‘Left to Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust’, Ilibagiza shares her story.

Her faith and willingness to turn her seemingly hopeless situation over to God was her key to survival. The personal power she gained during the 91 days gave her the unbelievable ability to later forgive her family’s killers.

She said it was praying the rosary constantly, especially the sorrowful mysteries, and reading the bible while hiding that helped her survive.

According to scouts, the former student at the National University of Rwanda, in the faculty of electronics and mechanical engineering, Ilibagiza moved to the United States four years after the Rwandan tragedy, and began working for the United Nations in New York City.

Brick and Lace coming back!
Good news to all fans of the Brick and Lace! Word reaching us is that Jamaican, America based singers, Brick and Lace, are planning their second trip in Rwanda.

The duo, best known for their song, ‘Love is wicked’, were recently in the country for this year’s Panafrican Dance Festival, which was organized by FESPAD under the ministry of youth.

During their three-day stay in the country, the hottest R&B singers, whose real names are Nyanda and Nailah, staged two remarkable concerts in the country (at Kivu Serena’s the Jungle Beach Party and at the official opening of FESPAD, at the grounds of Kigali Libre University), which left all their fans in the country thrilled.

"We will definitely come back as soon as possible. We love Africa, but we love Rwanda in particular.”
We’ll hold them to that promise!

Caught off guard

A big shot, who cannot be named, best known for his booming business, was recently spotted snoring in a bar, with his shoes off.

Snoops say it was though the big boss had indulged a little too much. But a waitress insisted something else was the matter. In fact a bottle of mineral water though untouched was within his reach.

His laptop was on and it seemed he was in danger of giving away his business secrets. It was approaching lunch time and people were beginning to fill the popular eating joint.

Suddenly, his head shot up as if he had been having a bad dream, looked around and noticed the numerous pairs of eyes.

He grinned as he adjusted his spectacles.
What could have gone wrong for this corporate to be caught so? The waitress speculated that he was overworking.
