RWANDA’S RALLY champion Davite Giancarlo and his navigator Sylvia Vindevogel are bubbling with confidence ahead of the fourth round of the Africa Rally Championship (ARC), Oryx Energy Rally of Tanzania set for this weekend.

The pair arrived in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday where they were joined by their Mistubisho Evo 10 which has been in Harare, Zimbabwe undergoing special improvement ahead of the rally.
With the ARC title still wide open, Vindevogel said, "We will give it all to win the Tanzanian Rally. We have learned a lot from the last two events in South Africa and Zambia. We also have confidence in the reliability of our car.”
The crew is currently placed fourth overall in the championship with 27 points after three rounds of the contest.
Cogebanque, SDV Bollore, Rwanda Sony, East African Cargo, Soras Insurance Rwanda, Happy Racer among many others have supported Davite and Vindevogel to ensure that they bring the ARC crown to Rwanda this year.
The top drivers set for the rally include; Gary Chanyes (Evo X) from Ivory Coast, who leads the ARC, Mohamed Essa (Subaru) from Zambia, a former ARC champion, Jaspreet Chatthe ( Evo X) from Kenya and Ugandan trio of Duncan ‘Kikankane’ Mubiru (Subaru N14), Shafik Ssemujju (Subaru N11) and Hajji Abdu Ssempebwa (Subaru N11).
The event which will rev up in Dar es Salaam on June 13 has a total of 501.47km of which 237.55km are spread over 16 competitive sections (CS) and will open with a Super Special Stage (SSS) of 1.45km on Friday. The event has attracted 21 drivers.
