Swiss Damien Wenger and American Oliver Crawford stormed into the quarterfinals of the ongoing Rwanda Open M25 Week II tournament after eliminating India’s Ganta Karteek Reddy and Ghanaian Abraham Asaba respectively on Thursday.

The week II of Rwanda Open M25 is underway at Kigali Ecology Tennis Club since Monday, September 11 and will run through Sunday, September 17.

High-flying Wenger advanced to the quarterfinals after a 6-1, 6-3 round of 16 win over Karteek Reddy Ganta. The 23-year-old is chasing a double of triumphs, having won Week I tournament after beating Crawford in Sunday’s final.
Meanwhile, tournament top seed Crawford booked a ticket to the quarterfinals after seeing off Ghana’s Abraham Asaba in two straight sets 6-4, 6-1.
In other fixtures, week I semifinalist Corentin Denolly advanced to the last eight after eliminating Egypt’s Michael Bassem Sobhy in two sets 6-3 6-0. He was joined in the next round by Ukraine’s Eric Vanshelboim and Ursu Vadym after they beat India’s Banthia Siddhant and Hans Kabir respectively.
Indian Dev Prajwal, who eliminated Rwandan Claude Ishimwe from the first round on Wednesday, advanced to quarter finals after beating 6-0 6-0 South African Montsi Siphothand while his countryman Eqbal Ishaque beat Italian Baldovinetti Guelfo 6-1 6-2 to secure the remaining spot.
The overall winner of the tournament gets 25 points on top of a cash prize of $3,600.
