National football league giants Rayon Sports have re-affirmed their interest to sign Amavubi striker Dady Birori from Congolese side AS Vita Club.
Birori saw his star rise following his man of the match performance during the Afcon 2015 qualifier against Libya in which he scored a hat-trick off headers as Rwanda stunned the Chan title holders 3-0 at Kigali Regional Stadium last Saturday.
After his heroics, it emerged that Birori could be out of contract with the Kinshasa-based side, a situation that Rayon Sports are reportedly aiming to exploit and bring the striker back to Rwanda.
According to Rayon Sports president Theogène Ntampaka, the 2012 league champions are keen to sign the 27-year-old to fulfil the demands of the fans.
"Birori is high-quality player that we need to fulfil our ambitions for next season. But we need to consider his contract status with AS Vita Club, before making any move,” Ntampaka revealed early this week.
However, Ntampaka noted that they have not held any former discussions with the player.
Rwanda international Birori has also played for Mukura Victory club, ATRACO (now defunct) and Kiyovu Sports Club before he moved to his country of birth over three years ago.
