KIGALI - Rwanda’s Foreign Minister, Rosemary Museminari has said that Rwanda-Kenya relations are good. Speaking to Sunday Times yesterday, Museminari described the bilateral relationship as "fantastic”.

"We have good cooperation and both countries are working hard to keep the healthy relationship,” Museminari said. 

Museminari dismissed allegations that Kenya’s government is protecting Genocide fugitive Felicien Kabuga.

"The Kenyan government has told us that Kabuga is not in Kenya and that they will arrest him if he lands on their territory,” Museminari added.

Kenya’s Ambassador to Rwanda Alex Keter has also denied that Kabuga is in Kenya.

The Kenyan government recently froze Kabuga’s assets in Nairobi where he was earning revenues in form of rent from property there.  According to Kenyan media, Kabuga and his wife Josephine Mukazitoni are owners, shareholders and directors of several companies registered in Kenya.

Profits were being transferred to an account in Belgium registered in the name of the couple’s daughter.

Kabuga was a powerful businessman who funded the 1994 Tutsi Genocide.
