KIYOVU SC has threatened to sue their former coach Gilbert Yaoundé Kanyankore for breach of contract, the club president Jean Pierre Kayumba has told Times Sport.

Kanyankore resigned last Friday citing personal reasons, but his boss said he still had two months left on his one-year contract, and so his resignation was not accepted as the team is still in the knockout Peace Cup competition.

"Kanyankore announced his resignation Friday and he immediately left the country for Burundi without serving us an official notice,” Kayumba said on Wednesday.

Kayumba added that Kanyankore had been paid upfront for the entire contract.

"We are ready to submit our complaint to Ferwafa and if nothing is done, we will have no choice but to go to courts of law,” Kayumba said.

Kanyankore, signed a one-year contract with Kiyovu last year to run up to July 2014.

He led Kiyovu to a 5th position finish in the national league with 41 points.

Former Kiyovu player Ashlaf Kadubiri Munyaneza will be in charge of the team for their Peace Cup quarter-final clash against Espoir FC this Sunday at Muhanga stadium.
