THE RWANDA women football team left for Nigeria last night aboard RwandaAir ahead of the return leg match of the 2014 Africa Women Championship qualifier.
The match will be played in the Nigeria’s Northern State of Kaduna at Ahmadu Bello stadium on Saturday. Grace Nyinawumuntu’s team will return home on Sunday, a day after the match.
In the first leg, Nigeria’s Super Falcons thumped She-Amavubi 4-0 at Umuganda stadium in Rubavu district two weeks ago. This turned the return leg into a ‘mission impossible’ as far as Rwanda’s chances of qualifying for the finals is concerned.
The ninth edition of the biggest women’s football event in Africa is scheduled to run from October 11 to 25 in Namibia. The competition will double as qualifiers for the 2015 Fifa Women World Cup in Canada.
