The three-day competition will see Rwanda’s senior women team play five Twenty20 games against their Ugandan counterparts. The Ugandan delegation arrived in Kigali on Wednesday.

The event is organised by Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) to mark the 20th anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

"In addition to the games, RCA in partnership with Aegis Trust will host a ‘Peace Education’ workshop at Gisozi memorial site to educate the players from both countries about peaceful values, negotiation and conflict resolution,” said RCA’s General Manager, Joshua Mwanja.

The Rwandan team went through several training sessions over the last week in preparation for the five-game series against the experienced Uganda side.
