As Rwanda joins the rest of the world to mark the 42nd World Environment Day tomorrow, organisations that rolled out outstanding environmental conservation activities will be honoured.

The Awards ceremony will be held tomorrow at Sports View hotel in Kigali as part of this year’s main event to close the National Environment Week under the global theme "Raise your voice, Not the sea level”.

Every year, the country dedicates a week (National Environment Week) to celebrate the day through activities on environment and Climate Change awareness.

As part of the celebrations, Districts, NGOs, Private Sector and Schools that exhibited exceptionality in environmental conservation and protection will be awarded with the "2013/2014 Best Environmental Performance” awards.

The World Environment day has grown to become one of the main vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness on the environment and climate change issues to encourage political attention for positive environmental action.
