French club Valenciennes FC is interested in signing Rwanda international defender Salomon Nirisarike from Belgium second division side Royal Antwerp, according to the player.
Nirisarike, 21 has been playing for Royal Antwerp for the last two seasons where he arrived from the Rwandan first division side, Isonga FC back in 2012.
The soft spoken central defender, who came through SEC Academy, told Times Sport shortly after the 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya last Saturday that talks between his agent and Valencienne, who were relegated from Ligue 1 this season, are already ongoing.
"We have started talks with Valenciennes FC as they are the club that has showed genuine interest in me so far, and I hope that by the time I return back (to Europe), I will have known the outcome,” Nirisarike said.
The former Rwanda U-17 defender noted that he is eager to find another big club to develop his professional career.
Nirisarike pointed out that on top of Valenciennes FC; two other clubs in the Belgium topflight division, the Jupiler League, KSC Lokeren and Cercle Brugge have shown interest in him.
